D of E Award - Bronze

Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award (Year 9)  

All students in Year 9 have the option to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.  

The DofE Bronze Award is non-competitive and a powerful way for every young person to build belief in themselves, whatever their interests, abilities or background. The award is inclusive to all, so variations can be applied for, in the case of medical and SEND conditions.  

Participants are required to complete sections in skills, volunteering and physical. 

Both expeditions will take place in term time on weekdays - apart from the training day which takes place in school from 8.45 -16.30 on Saturday 7th March 2026.  

Expedition dates: 

Thursday 23rd - Friday 24th April 2026 practice expedition. 

Thursday 4th – Friday 5th June 2026. Qualifying expedition 

Parents are responsible for transport to the starting point and from the pick-up points.  

Participants must commit to attending all of these dates, including the training and planning dates, to fulfil the requirements of the Bronze award.
