Place2Be
Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School works with Place2Be, the UK’s leading children’s mental health charity providing in-school support to help improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families and school staff.
How Place2Be helps students:
Students can find help with a variety of challenges and worries by choosing to visit Place2Talk, a 15-to-20-minute drop-in service. They can book to see Natalie (a qualified counsellor), during break or lunch, and attend on their own or with a friend.
Place2Be also works with young people by offering regular timetabled support, one to one or in a group, working closely with parents and school staff.
The school has a dedicated Place2Be room where students can meet with Natalie and talk about the challenges they are experiencing. As well as offering therapeutic support through talking and creativity, Place2Be helps young people to develop lifelong coping skills, increasing their self-confidence and enhancing their wellbeing and resilience.
Other support from Place2Be:
Place2Be also offers support and advice for parents and carers, as well as teachers and school staff. Please do get in touch to find out more.
Who is eligible?
Any student requiring support for any reason.
All students can self-refer for a Place2Talk session, either via email or by putting a slip in the Place2Be post-box.
Any questions?
You are welcome to talk to the Place2Be School project manager and counsellor, Natalie Clarke, either face-to-face or via email: place2be@langton.kent.sch.uk.
Natalie works at the school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
