Gold medal winner!

Year 10 student Qi'-Chi competed last weekend at the Regional South of England Indoor Championships at Lee Valley. This was her first competition within the U17 age group. At age 14 Qi'-Chi was one of the youngest in the age group.

Competing in two events on the same day within four hours of each other, amazingly, Qi'-Chi set two new personal bests with a 1.73m in the High Jump and 11.62m in the Triple Jump, winning both Gold medals! Qi'-Chi is now ranked No1 in the UK for both events, this has come after just her first event competing in the new U17 older age group.

The triple jump winning distance also puts Qi'-Chi into the UK all time U17 rankings, with her high jump result putting her 15th in the World U18 rankings and 30th in the World U20 rankings overall out of over 100 ranked athletes. UK Senior rankings place her 6th overall.
