Art Students Celebrate Success at the John Downton Awards 2022
BackWe are absolutely delighted to announce that 19 of our incredible artists were selected to exhibit their work last term, for The John Downton Awards 2022 at Maidstone County Hall. A range of skilful and imaginative work was selected from students in Year 8 to Year 13 and is a great reflection of the excellent standard of artwork created by our students.
In particular, we would like to congratulate Thamadi W in Year 10 for achieving the Bronze Award in the 11-16 category. Her work will also be included in an exhibition at Turner Contemporary later this year. Well done everyone!
About the Award
The John Downton Award for Young Artists is an annual exhibition which encourages and celebrates the creativity of Kent's young artists. It is open to students aged 11 to 18 from schools and colleges across Kent.
The award is hosted by us on behalf of the John Downton Trust. The exhibition commemorates the life and work of John Downton, the celebrated Kent artist, poet and philosopher.
