Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School originated in the Middle Ages as an educational foundation for children in Canterbury, emerging as a separate school for girls in 1881. Our school motto "Meliora Sequamur" (Let's Aim for Better Things) emphasizes the school's continued commitment to excellence. Girls are following an 800 year old tradition in achieving high academic distinction, learning civilized and humane values and developing the personality and character to allow them to go on to play a leading role in the wider world

Katarina Easterbrook (Year 8), Ramani Chandramohan (Year 10), Bryony Goble (Year 12) and Hannah Todd (Year 13) will all be published in an anthology of pupil work which will be available on display in a number of libraries across the UK including the British Library. Last week, a group of budding artists from Year 9 to 13, showcased their work at The Beaney's Front Room Gallery in Canterbury. The exhibition formed part of the 'Sounds New' Festival, organised 'to promote the art of our time' in and around the local community. Sounds New's programming includes visual events, films, installations, talks, education and outreach projects, newly commissioned works as well as many other UK and World Premieres.

Employers, parents, university lecturers and three former students led workshops for Year 9 students at Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School on Friday’s ‘World of Work Day’ to give them an insight into potential career pathways and to help them learn more about personal skills and qualities required in the working world.
