It was a busy weekend for some of our athletes, competing at the Kent Championships at Medway Park. For some it meant competing over two days with many events having heats and finals.

On Saturday in the U20m 1500m final Jack finished 3rd with a time of 3.59.09, shortly followed by Louis in 4th in 4.00.62. In the U20W 200m Imogen was 3rd with a time of 27.15, she then competed in the high jump placing 1st with a jump of 1.60m. In the U15G 200m Layla was 5th in her heat with a time of 29.11, running in a different heat over the same distance Dakota ran 29.99 to place 6th. Layla then competed in the shot placing 6th with a throw of 6.11m. In the 800m heats Zoe ran 2.37, with Jenny running 2.29 and qualifying for the final. In the final Jenny placed 7th with a time of 2.34.

On the Sunday in slightly less favourable conditions many of the athletes were back in action again, which is always challenging after a tiring day the day before. In the U20M 800m final Louis was 3rd with a time of 1.55.92, Jack was 5th in 1.58.08. Both really quick times over the two laps. In the U15G Layla was 5th in her 100m heat with a time of 14.08. In the High Jump Layla was 9th with a height of 1.30m. Continuing her winning streak Qi-Chi placed 1st with a jump of 1.60m, Qi-Chi then moved over to Long Jump were she jumped 4.99 to come away with another win. In the triple jump she came away with another win and a championship best ever performance jumping an incredible 11.10m. In the Javelin final Dakota threw 20.14m to place 4th.

What an incredible weekend for our club athletes. Well done to everyone who took part, especially those who now move on to their exams.
