Date posted:Wednesday 22nd June 2011
Five art students at SLGGS have had their work selected to be exhibited at a national gallery in London. The work was produced by sixth form students and has been chosen as part of the RBA National Students Art Exhibition 2011. Art teacher, Mrs Waring, said: "A warm congratulations to our girls for creating some fantastic paintings. Hannah MacDonald (year 13), Emily Mitchell (year 13), Claudia Stevens (year 13), Jessica Clements (year 12), and Katherine Beeching (year 12) will see their work exhibited at The Mall Galleries in London for a week from Tuesday 12 July. The works chosen have explored a diverse range of themes and techniques, and were selected due to their interesting, expressive qualities. Well done girls!"
The RBA National Students Art Exhibition was started with the joint vision of Cavaliere Romeo di Girolamo, President of the Royal Society of British Artists and Chris Russell, Chief Executive of The Dover Federation for the Arts. Their vision brings together work from the best young artists in the country alongside work from the most eminent British artists.
