Further information for Parents, with regard to the Kingswood trip meeting held on Monday 13th June 2011.
Information for SLGGS Students- Kingwood Trip
24th – 26th June 2011
Medicines
Please label any essential medicines that your daughter may need to bring with her. Students should give in medicines to Miss Goddard at the start of the trip (with the exceptions of: asthma inhalers, epi-pens etc which should be kept on the student at all times).
Valuables
Kingswoodand SLGGS will not be responsible for the loss or breakage of any valuables. The site is a busy one, with lots of movement and activities. It is an easy place for students to lose precious items. We recommend that girls do NOT bring:
Mobile phones(girls will not be allowed these once we arrive at the Kingswood site- they will be collected in and kept together as we believe that mobiles can detract from the residential experience).
Cameras- A disposable camera is a good idea as valuable cameras can be damages when participating in the outside activities.
Pocket money- There is a small shop on site which girls may wish to access during their break times. Please do not let your daughter come with any more than £10. The shop does sell sweets, so please only allow your daughter to bring 1 packet of sweets with her.
Towels/Bedding
Bedding is provided, but all girls must bring a bath towel AND a swimming towel with them.
Wet weather gear/ Appropriate activity wear
All activities at Kingswood are designed to be done in any weather (apart from very high winds). Please ensure that your daughter has a good waterproof coat and enough spare clothes. Activity wear should be appropriate (ie: no strappy tops or very short shorts). You may be asked to deliver other clothes if this occurs.
Please ensure that your daughter only brings ONE main bag/suitcase with her name on it.
Non uniform on Friday 24th June
This has been arranged with Mrs Robinson to prevent school uniforms being squashed at the bottom of their bags for the weekend and allow parents time to wash them for Monday morning! Please ensure your daughter wears appropriate activity wear as we will be going straight into activities when we arrive on Friday afternoon and she will not have time to change.
Pick up time on Sunday 26th June from SLGGS
Please be available to pick up your daughter from School at 1.45pm on Sunday 26th June. I am sure that staff will appreciate girls being collected promptly after their busy weekend!
Please see kit list attached.

Note from Kingswood:We strongly urge parties not to bring mobile phones as in recent months we have had a significant number of children lose them and our insurance does not cover for this loss. Also we find that mobile phones can spoil the residential experience.
