Fundraising Campaign

Fundraising – the new school building and beyond…

We want to provide the very best opportunities we can for all students.

We should provide the very best facilities and resources we can for all students.

We can only do this with your help.

When earlier in the year we sent out a request for donations towards buying equipment and resources for our new school, we had no idea of the response we would receive, nor of the challenges we would all face in the months since. Asking for money is always a slightly awkward thing to do, particularly at this time, but many of you have already generously responded.

To date we have received donations totalling £4,421. Every penny of this will go towards purchasing equipment and resources for the new building, and we would like to thank all those who have been able to donate at a time that is financially difficult for many.

Where people and business are in a position to make particularly generous donations (over £200) we will be in contact with you about how we plan to recognise your donation in the new school, but to every person who has donated so far, we are incredibly thankful. You are making a real difference to our students and staff alike.

Purchases for the new school will cost us circa. £250,000. This comes mainly from capital funding saved over the past few years, with additional KCC grants for the rooms they have funded. A large amount of this money will be spent on new ICT and AV equipment, but equally purchasing new dining room furniture will cost around £18,000, and new tables and chairs for classrooms to replace our aging stock will cost over £25,000. We are still seeking donations if you are in a position to do so, and will use this money to replace more old classroom furniture, but also to develop our outside areas.

There are a number of ways that you can make a donation:

  1. You can make a one-off payment through ParentPay here.
  2. You can complete a personal standing order form to make either a one-off or regular payments here
  3. You can complete a business standing order form to make either a one-off or regular payments here

Work continues on the new building, mainly now on the inside, and it is rapidly looking ready for us to move into. You may have seen the videos posted on our website and social media pages. We are still on track for the planned January opening, with final confirmation of this coming in the next fortnight. The fact that Kier have managed to stay on schedule is nothing short of remarkable!

You will also have seen in the parents’ bulletin that Miss Blaskett-Foord is launching our Langton Girls’ Alumni and Friends Association. This will help to build strong relationships between the school and our wider Langton Family, helping to raise money that will enhance the education of all students. For the near future they will be meeting online, but this will change when circumstances allow. If you would like to be involved, please email alumniandfriends@langton.kent.sch.uk.

Kind regards,

Paul Pollard
