Students at Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar school achieve ever higher grades in their GCSEs year on year, with six students this year achieving straight A* grades and another 39 girls achieving all A*/A grades. 60% of all grades achieved were at A/A* which is a remarkable achievement. Results were extremely strong across the board with 99% of students achieving five A*-C including English and Maths.

Saskia Jamieson Bibb, Ramani Chandromohan, Anna Evans, Felicity Gush, Juliette Holland, and Sophia Terry gained all A* when they opened their envelopes this morning, which they were extremely proud about.

Science results remain exceptionally high, with 72% of grades being A/A* in Biology and Chemistry, and 78% being A/A* in Physics – a terrific achievement at a time when grade boundaries are being depressed. 74% of students achieved A/A* in Sports Science as well, which is a great achievement by the girls and staff. Despite an apparent national trend of  English results dipping, results at SLGGS improved even on last year’s, by 20% increase in A/A* grades in English Language and 15% increase in English Literature.

Headteacher, Mrs Jane Robinson, commented: “We are very proud of all the girls for their excellent results, as they have not only achieved their full potentials, but have gone that one step further to gain the highest grades. This is testament not only to their hard work over the past two years but also to the superb teaching quality which they benefit from here at SLGGS.  We look forward to welcoming back the vast majority of our students into the sixth form in September, as well as all those who have applied from other schools who have achieved the necessary grades.  Many congratulations go to all of the staff and students for these excellent results”.
